Hello!
My name is Natalia, I am Italian, currently studying at SAE Institute in Glasgow. When I was young I used to make absurd short films with my friends. So I thought, why not do that as a job! Seriously though, I love films. They are the perfect celebration of life, what’s more interesting than stories after all?
I’d like to become a director and a producer, which is kind of weird because usually no one likes paperwork. But scheduling and being organized is essential for me, otherwise I get anxious😅. I had the opportunity to direct and produce a few shorts at my former university and I really liked working on set. A couple of times I even had to act, which made me a little nervous, even though I used to do drama after school when I was young. It’s definitely something I’d like to re-explore, but with ease and calm, and not by being put on the spot.
My favorite genre is probably gangster films, as long as they don’t become reality though. Once Upon a Time in America stole my heart, and at first I didn’t even want to see it because of its length. Over the years I’ve realized that I like action movies as well, for some reason it took me a while to become aware of it. From Indiana Jones to Atomic Blonde. I love comedies, even though it’s a dangerous genre. There are as many good comedies around as bad ones. So you’ll be safe if you start with some Woody Allen (*spoiler alert* you’ll read that I love his work). I also like dramatic films, it just depends on my mood that day. In fact, one thing I always say is that I have to feel the need to watch a certain film to then see it. If I don’t feel like it in that moment, I probably won’t enjoy it. That’s why I haven’t watched most of the films my sister recommended to me (Lou, if you’re reading, this is a message to you😇).
My other passion is drawing, so hopefully I’ll do some storyboarding as well. I’ve done some in the past and it was an absolute blast -sorry, rhyme not intended-
